There is no difference between this version and the previous edition. We bought it hoping for new reading selections, however, they are the same.

This is almost exactly like the edition I purchased about 10 years ago. Based on solid research, as all Jerry Johns books are. Packaged better - separate book for student copies is very nice and much easier to handle. Thankfully, some of the assessment stories are not the same as the old version I have.

CON - could not preview the book any where! Not on line and not even once I purchased it as the wrapping said if it was broken I couldn't return it. I was really looking for new stories and was hoping questions would be labeled differently, not with the F or E. I was looking for comprehension questions to be labeled more specifically to help diagnose specific types of questions the student may be experiencing difficulty with. I was hoping for all the stories to be newer and a little longer.

About the Author
After 32 years as a radiography program director, Quinn B. Carroll recently took his retirement from Midland College in Texas as an assistant professor to write full time. Quinn has published three textbooks, workbooks and a number of journal articles. His newest publication is Radiography in the Digital Age, released in 2011 along with several instructional ancillaries. Quinn has presented over 120 seminars in Canada and the USA, and many dozens of presentations for state societies and the ASRT. Quinn received his Master of Education degree from the University of Wyoming and his BS degree from the University of Utah, where he also obtained his radiography training at the University Medical Center. He is a dynamic, fun speaker and very excited to be part of meeting the challenge to embrace digital technology head on.

Dennis Bowman RT(R), CRT(R)(F) has been an active radiographer for over 35 years. He has been employed as a Staff Technologist at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) in Monterey, California since 1990 and was the Clinical Instructor until 2014. With a digital dosimeter and a vast array of body phantoms, Dennis has put in hundreds of hours researching and studying digital techniques. In addition to the weekly classes he gives his students, Dennis has travelled internationally lecturing on how best to use and critique digital radiography. Because Dennis still is a "shooting tech" and CI, he truly understands all the problems techs run into and has figured out a fun and lighthearted way to explain it.

Finally somebody is talking about real positioning issues

I have taught for many years and much of what is in this book has been informally talked about in my positioning classes. This text formally presents these positioning issues and then explains why things are this way. There are very clear illustrations to demonstrate these principles as well. I expect this book to be a very welcome addition for radiography instructors and I plan to add it to my required textbooks this fall. Great job!

Tight spaces, uncooperative patients, NO PROBLEM! The image critique was a greater refresher. The only problem I had is the binder started breaking down and the pages was loosing up

Needs work

Has a lot of great tips, however the book suffers from poor organization and the index doesn't help much. There's good information in this book, but it is hard to find when you need it.

Severe trauma can make the simplest xray very difficult and there are some parts of the body that are completely omitted in this book or given a single sentence of attention. I hope this book addresses these issues in the next edition.
