Loved this erotic novella!

This erotic novella tells the story of Victoria, a quiet demure librarian and her passionate affair with Greg, a widowed businessman twelve years older than her. They've both agreed that only sex is on the table, but when Greg's teenage daughter finds out about their affair, Victoria must decide if she's willing to put her heart into play as well as her body.
I loved this story! For a shorter novella there is enough of a background given to the characters to give you a sense of their characters and I found them both to be interesting and engaging. The story doesn't pull any punches, starting out with a steamy sex scene between them as a way of introducing their already ongoing affair. Though Victoria may feel as though the sex is isolated between them, having Greg's daughter find out about their affair brings reality into the limelight - that the status quo can't continue forever and that she is starting to develop real feelings for Greg, a fact that makes her realize that she isn't going to be able to end things easily. Though the majority of the story focuses on the sexual nature of their relationship, there is an emotional connection between them that neither can deny, leading to the eventual conflict and resolution to the story. The epilogue was a nice touch. 5 stars!

Complicated

Noelle Adams/Claire Kent has pretty much become an auto-buy for me. I've enjoyed everything I've read of hers. Some more than others, but I've not actively disliked any of her books. I liked this one. It is short and it does start in the middle of an active sexual relationship. Victoria is a librarian and she's stepped out of her comfort zone and volunteered for a political campaign. While working on the political campaign, she meets Greg. He's a businessman working for his brother's campaign. He's also a widower with an older teenaged daughter (I think 19), but Victoria doesn't know about the daughter and the daughter doesn't know about Victoria. Greg and Victoria have agreed to have a purely sexual relationship and they don't know a lot about the other's personal life. Until the teen daughter finds out about Victoria and confronts her. The daughter, Carrie, does it at Victoria's place of work and not in a nice way. The story goes from there with Victoria's feelings about dealing with this conflict, given that it's supposed to be a purely sexual relationship.
There is a lot of sex. And, although it's a short story, there is plenty of character development and I was able to sympathize. I liked this a lot.

secret affair novella

31yo librarian is having a secret affair with 43yo businessman Hero for the last 3 months. They both seem content with their sex-only arrangement until his college-aged daughter accuses her of having an affair with her father in public. Instead of breaking up with her, Hero invites her to spend the weekend at his house. But, when his daughter comes home unexpectedly, it caused an uproar that heroine thinks spells the end of their affair.**
Good novella with emotional depth & character growth with a older-than-usual characters. Liked seeing the change from Hero and heroine being so controlled and limiting in their affair to more open and trusting. Steamy sex scenes that wasn't just smutty. Some angst when heroine realized the impact their sex-only affair truly had on her. Satisfying quick read.
