I really enjoyed this. It was assigned for one of my classes in my 1L year. I started reading during a time where I was questioning whether not I was doing the right thing and these collections of essays helped renew my vigor.

Short words of wisdom

This book is a collection of short snippets of advice from lawyers. Most of the advice seems good, but there's also plenty of repetition. It's not something I'd read during my free time. It was a required reading for my class. If you're thinking of getting it for casual reading, you might be a little disappointed.

Spend Some Time Thinking

1) I received this collection of talks as a gift.
2) As I started reading I was really pulled into the first talk written by Marlin K. Jensen. He posed several questions that really hit home and made me think.
3) The next talk did the same, and so on, and so on. Not every talk was a stunner, but all were well-reasoned and pushed not only what I thought, but how I thought.
4) After reading the whole collection, I am now going to re-read it and look for quotes and articles that I can use to further deepen my thinking, on the topics presented.
5) Lifelong learning really gets a boost from collections like these.
6) I plan on giving copies to my closest friends for Christmas. Even if they only read the first talk they will be moved to a better place
