Errors and omissions in this material

Has nobody else noticed that there are errors and omissions in this book and MyMathLab package? I purchased this for my high-school age daughter to take an online College Algebra course and she has been completely disillusioned with this product. In just the first section, the only time they mention a rule regarding Union and Intersection is in Objective 1.7. However, on the quiz #5 there is a "Solve the Polynomial" (which is not a Compound Inequality) and guess what? You have to utilize the rule from 1.7! Nowhere in the Polynomial Inequalities does it say that the rules of a Compound Inequality can be used. Yet the Polynomial Inequalities are discussed in Objective 1.6.
Another error was the tabulation for utilizing the brackets and parentheses. On the quiz one of the questions needs to have both brackets and parentheses. Well, the way the box is set up, the bracket and parentheses are the same size, so no matter what way you try to type it in, it doesn't work out to be the correct answer.
The format is this: read about a concept, try to do a particular type of problem, hit the HINT button (and you will be doing so continually) to try to solve the problem, do the homework, have a quiz, and move on.
We were so optimistic that this product and new technology would be a great improvement over traditional textbook learning. Yes, it does make the student sit through and solve the problem, but the bottom line is that it's a poor way to learn.
Back to the drawing board for this one.

I could learn more math from a spelling book!

The author does not go into detail about a single problem. He instead lists random rules for various operations and then leaves you in the dark as where to take it from there. It seems he assumes that you already completely know the subject and aren't in a college algebra class because you've never taken it before.
There are no explanations of how algebra works. Absolutely none. Instead, the book emphasizes rote memorization. Therefore, when one works through the homework, one might have an idea about how something is supposed to go, but no real suggested process of thought for completing it or why certain answers are correct and others are not - you're either right or wrong, with no lesson as to how one successfully solves the problem.
The textbook is no help either. Whenever I try to solve a problem and look up the operation in the textbook, either the "solution" given to me is so cursory and simple as to be downright laughable, or the book will simply say "Watch the video on the website". I shouldn't have to open up a new window, go to another page, and wait for a video to load every time I want more information.
In short this is one of the worst textbooks I've used at any grade level. I heartily suggest to mathematics instructors to put serious thought into what books they require for a course and choose one besides this.

This is a great workbook for anyone taking the Math 111 class online. It follows along with online textbook. Lots of sample problems so you don't have to write problems off computer.
