So much information in a non overwhelming way. I couldn't put it down.

One of those "Wow" books that everyone must read. To be honest I bought it because I know that some of my children are right brained learners and I wanted strategies to help them with their education (we homeschool but any parent would benifit from this book) and I missed the small print that said it was geared towards children with ADD/ADHD. As it turns out my one child who I mainly bought the book to help doesn't have either. However, instead of returning the book, I've kept it, read it, highlighted & underlined it. I've learned so much amazing information about ADD/ADHD & I've thoroughly enjoyed the research shared on how &when the brain develops how it affects learning, behavior, etc... & so much more. It's not that I was unknowledgeable in these areas nor that all the information presented was new to me but that the facts and research are so clearly put. There was so much useful information even for someone who doesn't have a child with ADD/ADHD.
This would be a great baby shower book to give to the expectant parents.

Outdated but thought provoking concepts

Recent researchers debunk the right brain/left brain theory, however a lot of the "visual learner" concepts make sense. As a mother with a gifted child who refuses to conform to typical learning methods and is very easily distracted, but not hyper, I have to at least give the visual concepts a try. The book was informative enough and still can be applied today. I read a large portion of it, but skipped over some parts as it was either irrelevant or repetitive. Overall, a decent book that will assist those who learn visually.

Different learning style

The problem with the education system. Is that works a certain way. And if the child doesn't or can't learn this way. He's a problem child. Many teachers and schools with problem child. Lump them together. Or used drugs as a quick and fast answer. Which doesn't work. The way they wanted. They look at the problem of the child doesn't or can learn. Instead of how he learns it.
This book tell of certain problem of how these child understand things. And why teachers believe learn done a certain way. Which leaves how many child lost, an forgotten. That never learn to reach they potential. Just because they learn differntly!
