Fun, Enjoyable Romance
By HappyHeart1993
Samantha (Sam) Johnston is a reporter for a sleazy tabloid. She's out to get the scoop on the mystery bride of Dominic Demarco, one of the sexiest men on the planet. Through an improbable series of events, and with the promise of an exclusive at the end of three months, Sam suddenly finds herself saying "I do" to Dominic!
Dominic Demarco, on the advice of his manager, has sold the rights to his wedding story, in an effort to recoup the losses he sustained when his uncle absconded with his money. But mere minutes before the wedding is to take place, he finds himself without a bride! A sneaky tabloid reporter appears to be the right size for the dress, so Dominic, his agent and his manager persuade Sam to step in as his bride. He promises the marriage only has to last three months.
What I really liked: Teresa Ragan's humor shines through and made me smile and even laugh out loud sometimes (Emma, Sam's niece, was a hoot). I liked that Dominic stood up for Sam, just as she did for him. I loved the fact that the book is a nice, clean read, without graphic sex; sex is alluded to, but not described in detail. I was happy that the different twists and turns were resolved.
What I didn't care for: As a Christian who believes marriage is "till death", I have a problem with a couple of strangers going into marriage a) for money and b) knowing it will only last for three months (I'm also realistic enough to know that's pretty much the premise of the book). I didn't like that Sam allowed people to treat her the way she did (especially her boss); she owed those people absolutely nothing, and to risk Dominic's trust and their budding relationship for them was ridiculous.
All in all, I enjoyed this as a fun, clean romance, and would recommend it to anyone.

Hated the heroine
By Gatorfan
I hated this heroine. To like a book I really have to like the characters. So this one is off to a bad start. I think the story could have been good but the stupidity of the heroine just ruined it for me. She agrees to marry this Hollywood hunk who is desperate for a bride because his has run out on the wedding. It is to be televised, etc. and will bring him some big bucks which he needs because his uncle has stolen all his money. They are going to pay her $150,000 to step in and take the place of the bride. Not bad so far.
She is a journalist. She is currently writing for a rag paper that to call it trashy would be a compliment. Paying her dues. An added benefit of the wedding is that she will get an exclusive with the star that never gives interviews, so this will be a big feather in her cap and could just send her on her way to the big time.
Right after the wedding she is trying to advise her family, etc. about the wedding without telling them the whole story or the truth. She is constantly putting him down for marrying a stranger (which is what she did) for marrying for money (which she also did), etc. Judges him by all the articles she has read on him, not taking into account the rag she works for also prints nothing but trash on him. Does she seem a little stupid to you???
Now her editor calls her in and is going to fire her because she didn't tell them she was marrying the hottie and give them the exclusive. So, to save her job, (the lowest on the totem pole with a rag paper no less) she agrees to give them the exclusive in 3 months. Now, think about this. She has got the hottest interview on the planet and she is going to GIVE it to a rag to keep her job. I guess she forgot she could live on the $150,000, give the interview to the biggest paper or television station in the country and be at the TOP of her game. Does she seem rather stupid to you?????? She did to me. I quit reading. I really hated this girl and had no warm and fuzzy feelings regarding her at all. Maybe it got better I guess I will never know. I couldn't see how this girl could ever become the person this guy really deserved. Didn't like what I read.

Neat clean love story
By karn
Wow! They still make them....true love stories. Fake marriage leads to true love. Oh ya loved it!! Many misunderstandings, misreads and plain ol' mistakes leads to true love shining through. Fantastic book. Will read others by this author, enjoyable, laughable and possible.
