Good high level overview

Good short intro to the subject.
VERY high level but you get the gist in just a few pages.
Besides the whole subject of the Phoenicians is a lot of guess work as those boys didn't leave much of a written trail
(on purpose, they were obsessed with security, would have been right at home in Washington D.C. today).

A superb, concise, comprehensive, and well written overview of the Phoenician civilization that serves quite well as both an intro for the seriously curious and as a background supplement to other books that make reference to this civilization, enabling me to better understand what I am primarily focused on. I had been looking for a book like this for a long time and find myself going back to it often. The information in it is quite "find-able" which I am grateful for.
